Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15th in 1961) is an American actor. Since the mid 80s, Angela Evelyn has worked in film and TV. The actress has won numerous awards including sixteen NAACP Image Awards. Bassett originates from New York New York. She was raised at Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett along with her sister who were about five years old, emigrated out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with the mother of their separated father. Bassett was in high school when saw the James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck production Of Mice and Men and was aware that her goal to become an actor been born. The year was 1980 and Bassett completed her studies at Yale University New Haven Connecticut with a degree in African American studies. She also received a degree from The Yale School of Drama. In 1997, she got married to Courtney B. Vance who was an actor in the same group. Qualification: B.A. graduated from the Yale School of Drama School with a master's of African American studies in 1980.
